Last night’s social event – the Romanian Dinner, held at the Calypso Restaurant in Bucharest, meant having fun the Romanian way! That includes traditional (and very tasty) Romanian food, music and dance.
Louana Popovici, the wonderful Committee Assistant of The COPUOS Committee, enchanted us with her incredible voice! As soon as she took the microphone and invited people to dance, everyone crowded on the dance floor, Romanians and foreigners alike. Our national dance, generally called “hora” and consisting of two steps forward and two or three steps backward, was easily learned by our international Delegates.
The Diplomats were entertained and the stress gathered over a long day of negotiations was released as we partied until morning. Even though our feet may seem sore today, it is a Romanian tradition to have a great time whenever you are given the chance.
Please do attend the Greatest Dictator Party tonight and make the best of your last evening in Bucharest (until you return next year, of course!).
