In the second debate session, the Crisis Committee received an aggressive and ominous video from the Daesh organization having obvious and real purpose to arise hatred feelings and conflicts of opinion between nations. The Crisis Committeee further topic raised was who, where from and through which methods Daesh is getting access to funds, along with the crisis caused by the assasination of the Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations in Damascus. Delegates stayed focus on the subjects, trying to find common solutions to the problems and questions related to the rapid and active spread of terrorism.
Recent attacks on Brussels and Paris have shown that Daesh has managed to attract extremists from all over the world, giving also the impression that is far from being an unorganized and fortuneless terrorist organization. The Daesh terrorist organization endeavor to establish an Islamic caliphate throughout what has become a war-torn and resource-depleted region across Iraq and Syria.
The United States said that it does not have clear evidence that governments of some specific arab countries are funding the terrorist group konwn as the Islamic State, being sure that the group’s funding channels are extensive but ultimately unsustainable.The United States underlined the fact that they have worked intense to help the Syrian government in order to attain freedom and peace, along with direct financial and military support to foreign governments on fighting Daesh.
Russian Federation acknowledged that Russian strikes targeted not only Daesh but also rebel groups in the Army of Conquest coalition, claiming that they did this to come closed to an end of the syrian conflict. Russia delegate stated that President Vladmir Putin will not lead any recognition and mercy for the terrorist group, and the russian military forces will be totally withdrawn only when Syria will reach a level of stability.
Japan, France and United Kingdom delegates encouraged all states to react against the atrocious acts of Daesh, to work together in finding means on blocking every economic, social and natural resources for and from ISIS. Turkey, Egypt, Spain and New Zeeland agreed on a global alliance to combat terrorism, terrorist propaganda and limit the territory controlled by Daesh.
Most of the delagates agreed that till now, ISIS’ biggest financial coup was with no doubt the looting of the central bank in Mosul in Iraq, the taxes and the extortion rackets that they run in every different type of way, Afghan heroin trafficked through its territory and hitting oil convoys. A real surprise was the statement made by the United States claiming that Daesh exports oil and imports cash via Turkey territory.
