It was a very exciting day for the Counter-Terrorism Committee. After intense discussion over all the points from the study guide, our dear delegates started to write the draft resolution. Seeing the delicate nature of the subject, a sensible strategy was a must in creating the draft. Fortunately, all the delegations realized that in order to push real solutions, that have a multipurpose impact both at a local level and on international level, they needed to stick together, as a team, with tasks attributed to each and every delegation.
After they had several moderated caucuses, on relevant topics such as:” Solutions for Cyber-Crimes, Weapons of mass-destruction, Bank robberies and Antiques trafficking, online recruitment of ISIS, Military supplies of terrorists”, the representatives of the countries at the UN voted for an un-moderated caucus to be held, so they could finally start what they wanted all this time, to make the resolution.
When approaching this issue, they had a pretty efficient strategy. They split in pairs, and each group worked on an individual part of the draft.
When the extension of the caucus had elapsed, they immediately voted for a “Tour de Table”, and each and every nation communicated what they managed to do with their respective partners. The outcome of their work was presented, and managed to make a very big step regarding the completion of their task.
We look with great hope for the next day, when our diplomats will hopefully have plenty of energy left to finish what they started!
