The idea for a Romanian Night came because we wanted to promote our culture and at the same time have fun in another background and context apart from clubs. We wanted a place where we could easily exchange ideas and introduce our distinguished guests to our culture.
Last night was all about friends. There were 275 people, including volunteers, organizers and participants, all of them thrilled after 3 days of a successful BISMUN edition.
We tried introducing traditional elements everywhere. Of course, we started with the food and music from different regions of our country. Also, we had some live moments, not only with traditional music. Tobi Ibitoye, former finalist at Romania’s Voice sang for us several wonderful songs which dragged almost everybody on the dance floor.
Another impressive aspect was the fact that most of the girls chose to wear the Romanian traditional blouse, “ia”, and had their hair braided in pigtails. Likewise, the waiters were also dressed traditionally.
All in all, last night’s purpose was to show everybody that BISMUN is also about knowing people, their culture and traditions. At BISMUN, the delegates speak about tolerance and acceptance through cultural experiences. This is exactly what we are trying to do!
