The third day at the UNEP committee began full of energy. An unmoderated caucus of twenty minutes over the yesterday’s working paper last details was proposed by the delegate of China and passed with no objections. It seems that all of the delegates are determined to come to a good result, before the working paper will be sent to the secretariat.
Further, as the floor was open for points and motion, delegates actively expressed their ideas and modifications that should be added to the draft. The delegate of Egypt emphasized an important idea, that the process of how the transition from traditional carbon economy to low carbon economy will be done, to be added in the resolution.
The delegate of Russian Federation showed their support for this point made by the delegate of Egypt, with the remark that everything should be stated clear in the resolution to avoid misunderstandings. The delegate of Spain made a similar remark in what concerns a redundant message in the resolution that should be modified.
A funny moment occurred also this morning, as the delegate of Saudi Arabia and Russian Federation received a funny punishment for addressing in a personal manner instead of using “we” as representing a nation.
