After an incredible evening spent at the Diplomatic Reception, delegates from SOCHUM started today’s debate sessions more enthusiastically and full of fresh ideas. The day began with some feedback messages regarding the previous session. For instance, the delegates of South Korea, Lebanon, Qatar, Romania and Russian Federation wanted to congratulate everybody for their contribution, for working so hard in order to find all of those solutions in the working paper.
After an unmoderated caucus, the resolution was read in front of everybody by the delegation of Germany. On account of the resolution, the delegates received 15 minutes to submit an amendment. Everyone tried to use the time to the fully so, in the end, all the submitted amendments were presented in front of all the delegations and declared friendly or unfriendly by the sponsor and the signatory countries of the resolution.
As you all know, the friendly ones were introduced automatically in the resolution, whereas the unfriendly ones had to go through a voting procedure. Although some of the delegates abstained from voting, the majority voted, so another amendment has been added to the resolution, in the sound of several clapping hands.
All in all, it seems that our delegates managed to be fully productive in this morning.
