BREAKING NEWS: Draft Resolution passed in ECOSOC tackles the issue of Immigration

The first draft resolution of this year’s BISMUN edition was released by the ECOSOC Committee, on the topic of “Integration of the First Generation Immigrants”.

The draft was proposed by the delegate of the Czech Republic after the discussions in the Committee were dedicated to clarifications about the migrants and the hosting countries needs. After the majority of delegates agreed that the immigrants should receive help from both NGOs and government, they voted the draft resolution.

The draft resolution passed with 23 votes “for”, one abstention and 2 “against” from USA and India.

The measures proposed by this draft range from the creation of educational camps, to helping employment for immigrants, giving a full citizenship status for first generation immigrants and a more powerful cooperation between states and the UN bodies.
